Ruth is Stranger than Fiction is a podcast devised, researched and presented by me, Ruth McPhee, (almost) lifelong resident of the city of Cambridge in England. I have a long held fascination with tales of mystery and horror, as well as an interest in the history and folklore of of East Anglia. It is a land of flat fields and soggy fens, of coastal marshes and historical market towns. There are stories of murderers and smugglers set amongst a countryside where ghosts and black dogs roam. This podcast will tell some of these stories, with our discussions lubricated by one of my other primary interests: drinking a range of delicious and varied types of alcohol! To go along with each story, myself and my guests will bring a surprise concoction inspired by our chosen subjects, and attempt to remain relatively coherent as we go.
